Gorizia (ZIP code 34170) is the Chief Town of the homonymous province.

Population: The municipality of Gorizia had a popolation of 38.505 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 35.667 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of -7,37% inhabitants.
The inhabitants are distributed in 15.524 families with an average of 2,30 people per family.
The place: The territory of the municipality lies between 39 and 609 metres above sea level.
The altimetric spawn is thus of 570 metres.
Work and workers:There are 431 industrial firms employing 3.164 people that are the 22,49% of the total of the workers. There are 1.094 service firms employing 2.893 people that are the 20,56% of the total of the workers. There are also 1.121 firms employing 3.754 people that are the 26,68% of the total of the workers. There are also 515 administrative offices emplying 4.257 workers that are the 30,26% of the total of the workers.
There is a total of 14.068 workers, that are the 39,44% of the inhabitants of the municipality.
